Gaming news, by the numbers.
The games industry runs on numbers — sales, players, viewers, scores, release dates. We put the number first and let it tell the story.
Data Dudes Games is a data-first gaming publication. There's no shortage of takes out there; what's harder to find is the figure underneath them. So every story we run is anchored to a real, sourced number — and that number usually leads the headline.
What you'll find here
Three kinds of stories, color-coded so you know what you're getting:
- By the Numbers — the figure is the story: a launch's first-week sales, a viewership spike, a five-year trend.
- Explainers — the context behind a number that's moving: what changed, why it matters, and what to watch next.
- Hot Takes — a sharp, defensible read on what the data actually says (and what it doesn't).
How it's made
We continuously scan gaming press, official studio channels, storefronts like Steam, and the busiest community conversations. We cluster the day's signals into the stories that actually matter, pull the hard figures, and write them up tight — a quick, honest read with the receipts attached. Every piece is fact-checked and editorially reviewed before it's published.
Our data rules
- Every number is sourced. If a figure can't be traced to a real source, it doesn't run.
- No invented stats. Numbers come from sources and tools — never guesswork, never rounded up to sound bigger.
- We summarize and link. We don't republish other outlets' articles or their copyrighted imagery; we credit and point you to them.
- We separate fact from read. The data is the data; where we offer an interpretation, we say so.
- We correct fast. Accuracy is the whole brand. Spotted something off? Tell us and we'll fix it.
That's it: the biggest stories in gaming, with a number you can trust attached to every one. Thanks for reading.
